About
"History's warriors thrown into gonzo fantasy carnage"
Drifters follows Shimazu Toyohisa, a samurai from Japan's Sengoku era, who is pulled from the moment of his death into a strange fantasy world alongside other historical warriors and generals. There they clash with rival factions of history's darkest figures amid orcs, elves, and magic. The show is loud, gleefully violent, and darkly funny, powered by Kouta Hirano's trademark bombast and stylish action. It moves fast and rarely pauses for subtlety, prioritizing spectacle and historical-figure fan service over deep characterization or worldbuilding coherence.
the gleeful, over-the-top clashes between real historical figures wielding absurd fantasy-tinged power.
