About
"Gorgeous, gory train-bound survival horror"
In an alternate steampunk Japan, monstrous zombie-like Kabane have forced humanity behind iron walls, traveling between fortress-cities aboard armored steam trains. When a boy is bitten and transforms into a rare human-Kabane hybrid, he becomes both weapon and outcast, fighting alongside a fierce hybrid girl to protect the survivors. The show moves fast and hits hard early on, with gorgeous animation, propulsive action, and body-horror dread, though its intensity and plotting don't stay as sharp as they start.
the stunning action animation and creeping body-horror atmosphere in its early episodes.
you need a tightly plotted back half to match the visual spectacle.
