About
"Gorgeous, gutting, and infamously unfinished in spirit"
A grieving middle-schooler buys mysterious eggs from a vending machine that hatch into girls who died by suicide, and enters dreamlike battles to save them in hopes of resurrecting her best friend. It's a moody, visually striking anime that tackles bullying, trauma, and grief with unusual bluntness for the genre. Early episodes are emotionally devastating and gorgeously animated, carried by an eerie synth score and committed performances. The show builds real momentum and mystery, though its production famously struggled toward the end, leaving many viewers torn on how it all wraps up.
the haunting visuals and raw handling of grief, trauma, and suicide rarely seen this directly in anime.
you need a satisfying, coherent conclusion after investing in the mystery.
