Tatsuhiro Satou is a 22-year-old hikikomori convinced a shadowy organization called the N.H.K. is secretly responsible for turning young people into recluses like him. When a strange, persistent girl named Misaki shows up offering to help him recover, and a childhood friend drags him into dating-sim culture and pyramid schemes, his sheltered life starts to unravel. The show swings between broad, cringe comedy and genuinely uncomfortable depictions of depression, addiction, and isolation, carried by a lead who's more pathetic than heroic and all the more human for it.
