About
"Camelot's glamour with the cracks showing"
This miniseries traces the rise of the Kennedy family from Joseph Kennedy's political ambitions through JFK's presidency, marriage to Jacqueline, and the shadow of tragedy that follows them. It plays like a glossy historical soap opera, heavy on family intrigue, ambition, and private anguish behind the public image. The pace is brisk for a period piece, carried by strong performances rather than subtlety, and it leans into melodrama more than documentary rigor. Expect handsome production design and a tabloid-ish fascination with power, secrets, and the cost of dynasty-building rather than a strict history lesson.
the lead performances turning a familiar political dynasty into intimate, often unflattering family drama.
you want a historically rigorous account rather than a dramatized, soap-opera take on real events.
