About
"A quiet, freezing race to deny Hitler the bomb"
This Norwegian miniseries recounts the real WWII race to stop Nazi Germany from building an atomic bomb, centered on the Telemark heavy water plant that supplied a crucial ingredient. It follows scientists, Allied intelligence officers, and young resistance saboteurs sent on a near-suicidal mission through brutal winter terrain. The tone is tense and procedural rather than action-heavy, favoring quiet dread and moral weight over spectacle. Pacing is deliberate, letting the science and strategy breathe alongside the human cost. It rewards patience with a gripping, meticulously researched piece of history that feels urgently consequential.
