About
"A dated fake-relationship rom-com saved by chemistry"
Personal Taste follows a heartbroken furniture designer who rents out a room in her uniquely designed house, not realizing her new tenant is faking being gay just to get close to her for his own hidden agenda. What begins as a farce of misunderstandings and forced proximity slowly melts into a slow-burn romance. The tone is light, breezy K-drama comfort food, heavy on tropes and cute bickering, carried almost entirely by its leads' chemistry rather than originality. It's easy, undemanding viewing, best enjoyed for charm and nostalgia rather than sharp writing, though some of it now feels dated.
the effortless, magnetic chemistry between its two leads.
you're sensitive to its now-dated, played-for-laughs handling of sexuality.
