About
"Jazz as the language teenagers can't speak aloud"
Set in a small Japanese port city in 1966, a reserved transfer student forms an unlikely bond with a rough-edged classmate over a shared love of jazz. What begins as awkward friendship widens into a tender ensemble story of first love, family wounds, and growing up amid social tension. The show moves gently, letting mood and music breathe rather than rushing plot. Jazz performances double as emotional climaxes, and the animation lingers on small gestures and silences. It's melancholic, warm, and quietly earnest, carried by its soundtrack and unusually sincere handling of teenage feeling.
the way jazz performances become the show's real emotional dialogue.
you want fast plotting rather than slow, mood-driven character drama.
