About
"Obsession, grief, and a killer finally named"
This docuseries follows true-crime writer Michelle McNamara's years-long obsession with tracking down the Golden State Killer, a serial predator who terrorized California for decades. Rather than a straightforward procedural, it weaves her investigation together with interviews from victims, detectives, and people close to her, examining what it means to be consumed by a case. The pace is deliberate and somber, more meditation than thriller, and it lingers on grief, memory, and the toll of obsession as much as on the manhunt itself.
the unusually personal, introspective take on true-crime obsession rather than sensationalized crime-solving.
you want a brisk procedural instead of a slow, reflective meditation on grief and obsession.
