About
"Arthurian myth reheated as glossy political soap opera"
This retelling of the King Arthur legend follows a young, uncertain Arthur as Merlin maneuvers him onto the throne while a scheming half-sister works to seize power for herself. It's a lush, moody take on medieval myth, heavy on court intrigue, sword fights, and simmering betrayal. The pace lags in places and the dialogue can feel overwrought, but the production looks expensive and the central power struggle has real bite. It never quite escapes the shadow of bigger fantasy epics, but as a one-season curiosity it has enough atmosphere and melodrama to hold attention.
Eva Green's scheming, magnetic performance elevates every scene she's in.
you want tight plotting rather than atmospheric, sometimes meandering court intrigue.
