About
"Glossy soap opera dressed up as moral philosophy"
A wealthy, enigmatic investor named Anne offers a struggling young couple a life-changing deal, one with a catch that unravels their marriage, friendships, and secrets. Framed as a single-season anthology of moral dilemmas, the show trades subtlety for soapy, hyper-stylized melodrama: glossy visuals, ominous voiceover, and increasingly absurd twists. It moves fast and never takes itself too seriously, which makes it easy to binge even when the plotting stretches credibility. Renée Zellweger's icy, scene-chewing performance is the main draw, anchoring a show that's more guilty pleasure than prestige drama.
Renée Zellweger's deliciously campy, ice-cold performance as the puppet-master investor.
you want grounded realism instead of soapy, over-the-top plot twists.
