About
"Melodrama and menace behind bars, cranked to eleven"
A naive young woman is sent to a women's prison after her boss frames her for embezzlement, and she has to learn fast how to survive among hardened inmates and predatory guards. The show is a soapy, high-tension prison drama, closer to telenovela intensity than gritty realism, full of shifting alliances, brutal power plays, and melodramatic reversals. It moves fast, leans hard into cliffhangers and emotional extremes, and thrives on a small cast of vivid, larger-than-life characters. It is pulpy and addictive rather than subtle, built for binge-watching over restraint.
the escalating cat-and-mouse dynamics between inmates and a genuinely unhinged antagonist.
you want gritty realism instead of soapy, over-the-top prison melodrama.
