About
"Triad brutality wrapped in family sitcom warmth"
When their triad-boss father is shot in Taipei, an assassin son flies to Los Angeles to protect his oblivious mother and slacker younger brother, only to find she's been quietly running her own operation all along. The show mixes brutal, well-choreographed fight scenes with genuine sitcom-style family comedy, anchored by a mother who is funnier and more dangerous than either of her sons. It moves briskly, leans into culture-clash humor, and balances violence with warmth without feeling tonally schizophrenic.
the mother, who steals every scene as a sharp, secretly formidable matriarch.
you want pure crime drama without comedic tonal swings.
