About
"Zombie apocalypse played as gonzo teen comedy"
After a nuclear apocalypse wipes out every adult, high schooler Josh Wheeler roams a zombie-filled Los Angeles searching for his missing crush while narrating his own story straight to camera. Teen cliques have splintered into warring tribes (jocks, cheerleaders, nerds) fighting for turf and survival. It plays like a hyperactive mashup of a coming-of-age comedy and a zombie action romp, breaking the fourth wall constantly, throwing in musical numbers and video-game logic, and never taking its own carnage too seriously. The energy is relentless and irreverent, carried by quippy narration and go-for-broke absurdity rather than deep world-building.
the fourth-wall-breaking narration and gleeful genre-mashing energy that never lets up.
you want grounded stakes, since the tone stays cartoonish and it ends on an unresolved cliffhanger.
