About
"A grim, patient British serial-killer procedural"
Thorne: Sleepyhead follows DI Tom Thorne, a weary London detective drawn into a disturbing case when a killer's supposed victim turns out to have survived, left in a locked-in state that may hold the key to catching him. Adapted from Mark Billingham's novels, it's a moody, slow-burn British procedural heavy on psychological dread rather than action. The pacing is deliberate, the visuals grim and rain-soaked, and David Morrissey's brooding lead performance carries much of the tension. It rewards patience more than excitement, feeling closer to a bleak character study than a twisty thriller.
David Morrissey's haunted, understated performance as a detective worn down by his own case.
you want fast-paced twists rather than slow, atmospheric psychological dread.
