About

"A fake pundit who outsmarted real ones"

Stephen Colbert plays a blowhard cable-news pundit, a satirical mirror of blustery conservative commentators, delivering nightly monologues, invented slang, and straight-faced interviews while never breaking character. The setup is simple but the execution is relentless: rapid-fire wordplay, mock outrage, and a genuinely committed comic performance that turns political satire into something closer to sustained improv. It's dense with topical references but carried entirely by Colbert's persona, so even when the news of the day fades, the character work and absurdist bits still land. Fast, smart, and surprisingly rewatchable.
