About
"Generations risking death for a scientific truth"
Set in a fictionalized medieval Europe, this anime follows a succession of scholars and ordinary people across generations who risk their lives pursuing a forbidden idea: that the Earth moves around the sun. Each arc introduces new characters carrying the torch of that heretical truth while an unforgiving religious Inquisition hunts anyone who dares question doctrine. It's somber, cerebral, and often brutal, more meditation than adventure, building tension through interrogation and moral compromise rather than action. What carries it is the emotional weight of sacrifice and the slow, generational relay of knowledge toward eventual truth.
the way each generation's quiet sacrifice builds toward one devastating, unifying idea about truth.
you find slow-burn philosophical drama or scenes of religious torture and execution too heavy.
