About
"Midlife female friendship comedy with bite and messiness"
On the Verge follows four women in Los Angeles, each nearing fifty and each quietly unraveling: a chef with a crumbling marriage, a single mother chasing a promotion, a fashion designer facing financial ruin, and a friend adrift after her own upheaval. The show is a talky, wry ensemble comedy about ambition, money, and desire hitting all at once in midlife. It moves briskly between overlapping storylines, leaning on sharp dialogue and the chemistry of its cast rather than plot mechanics. It's breezy and observational, more mood piece than tight narrative, best enjoyed as low-stakes company.
the ensemble cast's easy chemistry as four women openly admit their lives aren't working.
you need tight plotting rather than loosely connected slice-of-life vignettes.
