About
"A sharp cast stuck in an unfinished sitcom"
Mr. Sunshine follows Ben Donovan, the sardonic general manager of a mid-size sports and entertainment arena, as he stumbles through a midlife crisis while wrangling an eccentric staff and an equally eccentric boss. It's a workplace comedy built on quick, cynical banter rather than big set pieces, leaning on its cast's chemistry to carry thin plotting. The pace is brisk and episodic, more about personality clashes than story arcs. It's a lightweight, occasionally sharp sitcom that never quite finds its footing tonally, feeling like a show still figuring out what kind of comedy it wants to be.
the deadpan chemistry between its leads carries scenes weaker writing can't.
you need strong season-long arcs rather than loosely connected office antics.
