About
"A grief-soaked crime caper carried by one performance"
After her eccentric mother dies, a recovering addict with a chaotic past stumbles into an amateur private-investigator gig chasing a stolen art heist and a shady conman. It's a loose, sun-bleached crime comedy set in the California desert, built around one big, unpredictable lead performance rather than a tight plot. The tone wobbles between deadpan absurdity and genuine sadness about grief and relapse. It moves slowly, favors character quirks over mystery mechanics, and feels more like hanging out with a mess of a person than following a caper.
a wildly loose, funny lead performance anchoring an otherwise shaggy mystery.
you want a tightly plotted crime story rather than character-driven meandering.
