About
"A serious horror anime hijacked by its own dub"
A group of school kids team up to investigate and banish ghosts tied to old campus legends, arming themselves with charms and rituals against wandering spirits. The original Japanese version played this as fairly earnest kids' horror, but what actually made the show famous is its English dub: writers and voice actors were given free rein and turned it into a raunchy, self-mocking comedy full of ad-libs and pop-culture jokes. Watching it feels like two completely different shows overlapping, tonally chaotic, and carried almost entirely by the dub's gleeful, unhinged energy.
Watch it for
the anarchic, ad-libbed English dub that turns earnest ghost-hunting horror into gleeful chaos.
Maybe skip if
you want the original spooky tone rather than wall-to-wall adult jokes and pop-culture riffs.

When nearby construction disturbs a spiritual resting place, its disgruntled denizens do what any supernatural being would do after a rude awaking - they terrorize the local school. And that means it’s up to a scruffy band of young ghost hunters to expel their satanic schoolmates before everyone gets sent to permanent detention! Meet Satsuki, her crybaby brother, the resident class stud, the school nerd and “psychical researcher,” a born again beauty, and a resentful, demon-possessed cat in the funniest, scariest school you’ve ever enrolled in
