About
"A gloriously inept horror show that's secretly genius comedy"
Presented as a rediscovered 1980s horror series, this show follows self-styled horror genius Garth Marenghi as the swaggering doctor-hero of a haunted hospital, with modern-day cast interviews stitched in between the "lost" episodes. Everything about it is deliberately terrible: wobbly sets, stilted acting, nonsensical dialogue, and overblown narration, all played completely straight. It's a loving, razor-sharp parody of cheap genre television that becomes hilarious precisely because it never winks at the audience. Short, dense, and endlessly quotable, it rewards viewers who enjoy comedy built on commitment to a bad bit.
the pitch-perfect parody of terrible 1980s horror TV, from wobbly sets to gloriously awful acting.
you don't find deliberately bad production values and stilted acting funny as the joke itself.
