About
"Friendship, debt, and grief served with dinner"
Feed the Beast follows two lifelong friends, a talented but troubled chef and a sommelier drowning in debt to a local crime boss, as they try to open a restaurant in the Bronx while grief, addiction, and old wounds threaten to sink them. The tone swings between gritty crime drama and food-world melodrama, leaning heavily on its two leads' chemistry and simmering tension. Pacing is slow and moody, more interested in atmosphere and personal unraveling than plot momentum, which makes it a mixed, sometimes frustrating watch despite flashes of real intensity.
the raw, committed performances anchoring an otherwise uneven crime-and-cuisine drama.
you want tight pacing, since the mix of grief drama and crime plotting drags.
