About
"Midlife unraveling played for both laughs and hurt"
Cucumber follows Henry, a middle-aged gay man in Manchester whose nine-year relationship implodes after one mortifying, farcical evening, sending him spiraling into a messier, riskier chapter of his life. Created by Russell T Davies, it's frank, funny, and often cringingly honest about desire, jealousy, and the gap between who you want to be and who you are. The tone swings from sharp comedy to real heartbreak, anchored by a lead performance that makes Henry's self-sabotage painfully relatable rather than pathetic.》It's a character study more than a plot-driven drama, intimate and talky.
the unflinching, funny-sad portrait of a man realizing his life hasn't turned out how he planned.
you want fast plotting rather than a slow character-driven unraveling.
