About
"A mystery-box procedural that got cut short"
In 1963, an entire cellblock of inmates and guards vanished from Alcatraz without explanation. Fifty years later they start reappearing, unaged, and immediately go back to committing crimes. A detective, a federal agent, and an Alcatraz historian team up to hunt them down while digging into what actually happened on the island. It's a case-of-the-week procedural wrapped around a mystery-box mythology, produced in the JJ Abrams mold: slick, moody, twisty, with flashbacks doing a lot of heavy lifting. Watchable but formulaic, and it never got the chance to pay off its bigger questions.
