About
"A war crime disguised as a clean war"
In a nation that claims to fight a war with no casualties, autonomous drones called Juggernauts battle an enemy empire. The truth is uglier: young people stripped of citizenship because of their ethnicity are forced to pilot those drones and die by the hundreds, hidden from public view. The story follows a idealistic handler officer and the hardened squad leader she comes to know only by radio. It's a somber, tightly plotted military sci-fi with genuine mecha combat, but its real weight comes from grief, guilt, and the slow unraveling of a comfortable lie.
the quiet, devastating bond between a sheltered officer and the soldiers her country pretends don't exist.
you want lighthearted escapism, since this leans heavily on wartime grief and systemic cruelty.
