About
"Friendship, ecstasy, and grief collide one last time"
This Is England '90 closes out Shane Meadows' generation-spanning saga about a tight-knit group of working-class English friends, now edging toward their twenties as rave culture and ecstasy sweep in. Told in four hour-long chapters spread across a year, it swings between raucous, joyful set pieces and sudden gut-punches of grief and violence. The pace is loose and novelistic, driven by naturalistic performances rather than plot mechanics. It's less about what happens than how these people carry old wounds. Funny, tender, and occasionally devastating, it rewards viewers who've followed the earlier chapters of these characters' lives.
the raw, lived-in performances that make this friend group feel like people you actually know.
you haven't watched the earlier installments, since it leans hard on established history and relationships.
