About
"Community spirit tested by a shocking real case"
Based on a real 2008 case, this two-part British drama follows a tight-knit working-class community in Yorkshire as they band together to search for a missing nine-year-old girl. Sheridan Smith plays the neighbour who organizes the search effort, and the story tracks the rising media frenzy and the town's collective hope and grief. It's understated and slow-burning rather than sensational, more interested in solidarity and small-town texture than procedural twists, building toward a gut-punch reveal that recontextualizes everything that came before it.
Sheridan Smith's quietly devastating performance as a community holding itself together.
you want fast-paced crime procedural thrills rather than slow, character-driven realism.
