A New York City bus driver and his best friend, a sewer worker, live with their wives in cramped Brooklyn apartments, forever scheming to get rich quick or win some petty argument. Each half hour is basically a two-hander sitcom stage play, built on blustery bravado, wounded pride, and a wife who always sees through the scheme first. It's loud, broad, and stagebound, but the writing is tight and the performances are so committed that the small-scale bickering feels enormous.
