About
"A cartoonist's anxious, tender autobiography in motion"
An Italian animator's alter ego, Zero, wanders through memories of friendship, anxiety, and growing up in Rome, narrating his life to a paramedic while his sardonic imaginary armadillo needles his conscience. Created by Zerocalcare, it's a scribbly, hand-drawn six-episode memoir that swings from rapid-fire jokes to sudden gut-punches about loss and self-doubt. The pace is chatty and digressive, more like listening to a friend ramble than a plotted story, but the animation's rough energy and the emotional honesty underneath the jokes make it linger.
the bittersweet mix of rapid-fire jokes and real emotional weight about growing up.
you dislike rambling, dialogue-heavy narration over a tightly plotted story.
