About
"A scattershot comedy variety show through time"
A sketch-comedy sequel to Mel Brooks' 1981 film, jumping between historical eras like the Russian Revolution, ancient Egypt, and the civil rights movement for quick, irreverent bits. Multiple writers and comedians riff on different periods within each episode, so tone swings from silly wordplay to sharper satire depending on the segment. It's fast, loose, and uneven, more a grab-bag of jokes than a cohesive story, and its hit rate depends heavily on which sketch you land on.
Watch it for
the sheer volume of comedians riffing wildly on wildly different historical moments.
Maybe skip if
you need consistent tone or dislike hit-or-miss sketch comedy.
