About
"Melodramatic yuri romance that sparked genuine fan debate"
Citrus follows Yuzu, a fashionable girl who transfers to a strict all-girls school, only to discover her new stepsister is the school's rigid, no-nonsense student council president. Forced under one roof and thrown into an uneasy family dynamic, the two clash before something more complicated develops between them. The show leans hard into melodrama, moody visuals, and swirling romantic tension rather than comedy or slice-of-life ease. It moves quickly through emotional beats, prioritizing mood and yearning over subtlety, and its intensity (and the stepsister framing) has made it a divisive, talked-about entry in the yuri romance genre.
